I don't know about you, but I think holiday's like Father's Day and Mother's Day are all about your children showing how much they care about their parents. Since the majority of children don't have a ton of money, much less can't drive to buy their parents something, they show they care by making their parents a gift from the heart. This year for Father's Day my children made their father a Scribble T-shirt. This gift is great because it allows your toddler to be creative and it is inexpensive. In this case we made a shirt that said "DAD" on it but you could easily make shirt that says "MOM" on it.
Supplies:
- Light Color T-shirt - currently $3-$5 at Walmart
- Fabric Markers
- Painters Tape or Masking Tape
- Cardboard
How To:
1. Using Painter's Tape, spell out the letters D-A-D toward the top center of the t-shirt.
2. Put a piece of cardboard in-between the front and back of the t-shirt, behind where your letters are. This is going to prevent the markers from bleeding through to the back of the shirt.

4. Give your toddler the fabric markers and let them go at it!
I had to show my daughter how to color around the tape because she just wanted to fill in the tape and of coarse I had to help my son. Supervise your toddler's coloring so they don't try to eat the markers or color on their clothes because the fabric markers are permanent.

5. Once your toddler's have finished scribbling all over the t-shirt you can write what year your husband became a daddy. I wrote "est. 2013" you can also write "since 2013" if you would like.
6. Remove the painters tape.
7. Turn the t-shirt inside out and wash it before you let your children give it to their daddy, this way he can wear it right away if he wants to! Make sure to read the instructions on your fabric markers because some want you to iron the t-shirt in order for the markers to hold. The markers faded a little once the t-shirt was washed so I may have to touch it up in the future but for now it will do just fine!
I chose a blue t-shirt for my husband because he wears blue a lot but the fabric markers will show up a lot better on a white t-shirt. If you do choose a colored t-shirt try to let your toddler's color using the darker fabric markers like the black, blues, and greens.

My husband loved the Scribble T-shirt that our children made for him so much he wore it to church and all day! This is a meaningful gift from the heart and every shirt will be unique because no toddler's scribbles are the same. I hope the Father in your life and your children's life loves his t-shirt as much as ours did!
